Check out the latest updates to the "Bass Pictures" page! I had a great outing with CH Kyle Welch on 27 August in a small river in Southern Texas. We landed several bass that night, but the top three weighed over 4 pounds with one over 5 pounds! A truly great time on the water! Also, you'll want to take a look at Ken Kirk's big lunker he pulled in at Lake Anna this summer...what a bass! Congratulations Ken! If you want to book a trip to fish with him in the VA area, check out his website at www.K2Outdoors.com He puts on some great bass tournaments for our Warriors in the DC area.
We've updated a few areas of the site! Check out the Hunting pics for my trophy 10-pointer from 2009 recently mounted on my wall! Tell me what you think! Also, the Other Sites page has many more sites for you to link to for various interests. Lastly, the Upcoming events on the Event Calendar page has been updated with dates and such for this fall. Keep watching for more hunts to come up on this portion of the site very soon!! It's that time of year, you know!!
It took quite some time due to outside distractions...but, the Corsican Ram hunt from this past January with (Sgt-Retired) Seth Whatley from Florida is now finished. The film was shot in HD and once it was finished it was a whopping 10.9 GB in size! Therefore, we could not place the video onto this site. However, after the quality was downgraded from HD it was a mere 250 MB and it has now been placed here on the "videos" page. For those interested in viewing the HD quality we film at or the editing quality, I would understand that you may wish to view the hunt in HD, so please let me know and I'll be sure to send you a copy.
Overall, let us know what you think of the video that we have here, though!
Next video on the docket for being edited is the LEEK hunt with our Wounded Warriors this past May!
Check out the newest Video on my "Videos" webpage for Adventure Bound Outdoors. The video is from the Wounded Warrior hunt with Peterson Outdoors in SW Missouri last fall. The video you will see will not have the commercials yet, so fast forward through the blank parts. Post your thoughts of the video here! We want to know your thoughts. Also, if you'd like to get ABO "aired" in your local area...please contact me for details on how to make it happen and include your own business commercial in the tv series each week!! I enjoyed another great bass fishing outing with a Veteran and his son on 19 June 2010 at Choke Canyon. CH (MAJ) Kyle Welch and his son, Konner, joined me for what proved to be a great trip for bass fishing and unexpected GATOR watching!! We caught our last bass right before he showed up...seemed to get the trolling motor caught up in shallow 3-4' water, broke free suddenly and he was off the bow of the boat about 10' away. He looked to be every bit of 10' or more in length. Quite a site....wish I'd had my HD camera, but the simple handheld recorded pics and video you can check out on the bass fishing pics page!
Tell me what you think!
I went to the L.E.E.K. Hunting & Mountain Preserve in Potter County, PA during the middle of May. The trip involved visiting with Tron Peterson of Peterson Outdoors on the way there. I had a great time wrestling with his son and working on videos! What a great family and friend!
We took 7 Warriors out into the scenic mountains of Potter County, PA. Two warriors returned successful with their birds, showing the great difficulty and illusiveness of these unique Easterns! Each morning I had the opportunity of sharing a devotion geared towards the outdoors and how God's involvement can change their outdoor career, and ultimately their entire lives.
I've been blessed to stay in touch with several since that trip and the impact has been incredible. It was my privilege to share the outdoors with our nation's heroes. Lastly, the community again showed some amazing support. This year it came from the American Legion, local area Churches, Rod & Gun Club, Potter County Outfitters, and even the Patriot Guard Riders from all over the PA and NY areas for a huge 150 Bike Ride in their honor! Let us never forget the amazing turnout of landowners, guides, cooks, and the wonderful hosts: Ed, Kate, Lew, and Elaine Fisher! You guys are awesome!
I've got to retire to this area....I'm tellin' ya!
Went bass fishing this past Friday with two combat veterans: CPT Lopez and 1SG DeGarmo. Both enjoyed their time on the water. The success for me anytime I'm able to take Soldiers out is watching them catch something. Both were able to successfully land fish on one of my techniques that was new to them. Thanks for joining me gentlemen!
I have so many blessings to share with everyone: 1st-My good friends, Seth and Rosemary Whatley have now been enjoying the new life added to their family for the past month as Fiona has joined them! Next-I was able to help several friends wishing to send Waterproof Bibles to our Soldiers overseas. This ministry will bless so many individuals involved and I'm just proud to have added my simple abilities to make it happen. Another blessing was that I fixed the truck which will successfully carry the R-360 to the L.E.E.K. Preserve this May for future Wounded Warriors to enjoy hunting at that location. Lastly, I was recently chosed to attend a Chaplain course called CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) which will allow me to earn my Doctorate and broaden my ministry capabilities greatly.
We also had a great turkey hunting adventure April 9-11 with two of our Warriors from Brooke Army Medical Center. Though the hunt was unsuccessful, the time in the woods and at the ranch home was very enjoyable for all. As usual, we found ourselves making plans to do it again in the future! Thanks to Erik Woodard, Rudy, and family for opening up their properties to our two Warriors and myself! It is truly awesome to witness such patriotism and support for our Wounded Warriors.
