December 2010 Veteran's Hunt at the
Boazman Quatro B Ranch
We took a total of 7 Veterans on this year's hunt at the Boazman Quatro B Ranch. I have personally attended several hunts with Veterans and this was by far the most challenging one yet! Two of our Warriors went after big Whitetails while the other five were chasing one of the various exotic bucks on the ranch (Blackbuck Antelope, Axis, Fallow, Sika, or Aoudad Rams). A lot of animals were in sight with a few in bow-range. The challenges were numerous: low wind made for a quiet hunt and little opportunity for movement; the animals always seemed to be "on alert;" and of course, most every Veteran faced a challenge in getting to the stand/ blind and pulling back a bow during such elements.
Jacob Evans harvested the only buck on this trip and it was captured on video by his father with a camera from Chappy's Outdoors. What a hunt it was as well! Great job, Jacob and Bruce, and thanks for running the camera!
The guides and staff at Boazman are truly amazing! They went above and beyond to ensure that our Veterans had a wonderful trip this year...thanks Doug, Rick, Steve, Carlos, and Charles! Lord willing...we will make this one an annual event and return for 2011.

We also want to take this opportunity to thank our supporters: Christian Bowhunters of America, Eddie's Processing/ Taxidermy in San Antonio, Hunter's Specialties, Adventure Bound Outdoors, and MOST importantly...Impact Player and Mr. Lynch for the financial support sent to help some of our Veterans on this incredible hunt! Thank you so much! Your assistance made this trip happen for some truly deserving men!

ADVENTURE REPORTS
We took a total of 4 Veterans on our first of many hunts at the TF3 Ranch. We had Jacob, Steven, Justin and myself on this hunt. We were also blessed to have Bob Johnson from Christian Bowhunters of America on this trip with us! The hunt began on a Thursday evening and lasted through Saturday evening. The ranch is named after the three T's of the Friemann family. Tom Sr., and Tommy Jr. were in a construction accident where both were electrocuted by over 100,000 volts! I met the two of them at the hospital since I was working "on-call" that evening and the relationship built from there. Tom has served in the military and his passion to help our nation's Veterans was evident from the moment I met him. The family echoed his passion by showing incredible support of our Veterans the entire time we were there. The food and fellowship was very encouraging for all in attendance. We truly wish Tommy Jr. was released from the hospital to join us, but our thoughts and prayers were with him the entire time...get better soon, Tommy!!
The size of the ranch led most of us to believe the hunt would be easier than most. However, the deer were simply more aware of our presence and seemed to know every "sneaky" trick in the book on how to avoid our hunters. The first night yielded no harvested game and no shots taken, though plenty of game was seen...Whitetail, Axis Deer, Syka Deer, Oryx, Fallow Deer and Hogs on the first evening. So, we enjoyed some fishing from the dock that extended into the stocked pond. We caught several fish, had great fellowship, and finished the evening with a late night fish fry!
The next morning we were down to two hunters while the others were in transit to the ranch. One hog was shot early in the morning. While Steven and I went to recover the animal, he was able to take a shot at an Axis Doe. We initially thought he was successful by the reaction of the other deer passing by the area where he shot. As he went to recover, I was able to shoot at a second one passing by my location and connected on my first Axis Doe. Steven had unfortunately missed his opportunity that evening and would have to await another opportunity.
Later that afternoon, the remaining hunters arrived and we introduced them to South Texas snake hunting at its finest! All total, six snakes were killed that afternoon with the longest approaching six feet in length...don't worry, all snakes, no Veterans, WERE harmed in the making of this film! I never thought someone would enjoy such an activity...neither did Bob!!
So, this first trip demonstrated that the ranch and hospitality is absolutely top notch, the hunting is....well, it's tougher than first appearance, and the time spent with Veterans was again a blessing to me as much as I hope it was for them! Thanks again to the Friemann family, our Veterans, Bob Johnson and the CBA...we look forward to doing it again very soon!

(CO has already begun planning another event for potentially August/ September 2011 timeline and will be looking for support throughout the next few months. If interested in helping, please contact us through our contacts page...thank you!)
